In the rapidly growing field of global health education, looking at the effects and effectiveness of global health immersion on participants, host communities, and the larger health equity movement is essential.
Karen Gieseker PhD, MS joins Child Family Health International (CFHI) with a passion for research and evaluation. Karen will be analyzing the outcomes of CFHI programs, as well as mentoring international partners to increase capacity building for research and assessment within and between our partner communities. Karen brings experience as the previous Director of University of Colorado’s Global Health Track and the Evidence-Based Medicine Thread. She is currently adjunct faculty at University of Denver and Georgia State University and is pursuing a Masters in Theological Studies. Previously, Karen has worked at the Centers for Disease Control and completed its prestigious EIS fellowship. Karen is dedicated to transformative global health immersion and ascribes to the following humanistic mantra:
